Painted Biclinium in Siq Al Barid (Little Petra) Jordan

This biclinium (a Roman dining room with two benches), dated back to the first century CE, contains the only surviving example of Nabataean painting.

The interior wall is protected by an iron gate. Several baetyl (a sacred standing stone ("god block") that represents a divinity) niches surround the outside of the chamber.
